Dot painting in the main, began when the Aboriginal people became concerned that white man would be able to see and understand their sacred and private knowledge. The dots (sometimes called 'over-dotting') were used to obscure the secret iconography (symbols) underneath. The dots on the ceramics where painted with a friend I share many special and difficult secrets with. The Australian native flora was a gift to her.
In the heart of the Australian outback, Samantha, a passionate artist, felt a deep connection to Aboriginal heritage. Inspired by their stories and art, she decided to create a vase that would honor their legacy. Using clay from the riverbed, she molded and painted the vase with traditional patterns and symbols of the Dreamtime.

  • Filling it with florals from her own garden in Australia, Samantha placed the vase in her studio. It became a symbol of respect and unity, reminding everyone of the rich cultural heritage of Australia’s First Nations people. Through her art, Samantha paid tribute to the wisdom and resilience of the Aboriginal people.
